Govt Job Portal MSME Sampark Witnesses a 779% Rise in Job Seekers

The central government's job portal — MSME Sampark — has witnessed a staggering rise of 779 per cent in the number of people seeking jobs. However, the increase in recruiters numbers remained at 10 per cent during the last year. 

 

Just like any other job search portals such as Naukri.com, MSME Sampark offers trainees and students who have completed training at the 18 MSME Technology Centres in India to connect with recruiters (both national and multinational firms). As per MSME Sampark, these 18 technology centres provide training to more than one lakh students per year who get recruited by the industry.

 

In the past 12-month duration, there has been an exponential rise in the number of people seeking jobs to the tune of 4,68,804 but the rise in the number of recruiters stayed at 5,951 as per the website. The rise was up from 53,295 job seekers and 5,397 recruiters during the period of December 2019, as stated in the FY20 MSME annual report published by the MSME Ministry. Notably, the candidates who found jobs through the portal also risen 170 per cent within two months period from 10,388 people (November 17, 2020) to 28,029 candidates so far.

 

According to the 73rd round of the National Sample Survey (NSS) carried out during 2015-16, the MSME sector created 11.10 cr jobs in the country.
